Would this scenario qualify the United States as being a Latin American nation?

I heard that in a few decades hispanics will overtake white people as the majority. Based on the umption that most of the hispanics descended from those living here now can speak spanish, will the fact that the majority of the population could then speak spanish qualify us as a hispanic or latin american nation.
