Is my mom going through menopause..? She said she doesn't care about me?

I think my mom is going through menopause; she's turning fifty this year. My sister told me she thinks so too, because this entire summer she's been acting her for pads but she never has any. And yesterday, my mom told us all that she doesn't care about us, and that she's pretty much dead to us.. this made me really sad, and my twelve year old sister cried herself to sleep.
