I made an ornament wreath but the bulbs keep falling off, what can I do?

I made an ornament wreath this year and secured the ornaments with a hot glue gun. A couple of weeks after hanging it on the front door bulbs starting falling off and breaking. Is there anything I can do to ensure that the bulbs stay on even during some of the bad weather that we may get in the area.
